NEW! Organic Manuka & Lavender Healing Balm..with Wild Thyme.

This new healing balm was formulated for those who may be allergic to propolis or pollen. It is 100% natural and vegan.

Our organically crafted Manuka Essential Oil is the key hero ingredient. It is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs of the flowering Leptospermum scoparium ct East Cape shrub in New Zealand which has been shown to have the highest triketones levels (20%) compared to plants growing in other areas. Manuka Oil has been treasured for centuries by the Maori people, who are indigenous to New Zealand, where the shrub thrives, although this plant is actually thought to have originated from Australia many millions of years ago.

Triketones are key antagonists to gram-positive bacteria (more so than Tea Tree)Manuka Essential Oil is considered a broad spectrum for fighting bacterial, viral and fungal infections. In one study, they found that Manuka Oil was 100x more potent than honey against Staph bacteria, the type of bacteria most commonly found on the skin, especially for those who suffer from eczema. It is thought that the toxins produced by this bacteria triggers the immune system, leading to redness of the skin caused by blood vessels dilating which looks similar to an eczema flare-up.

Manuka oil is also active against yeast such as Candida Albicans which is another common fungal skin infection. It has also been shown to be active against the virus that causes cold sores and to protect the skin against photo-aging, wrinkles and damage caused by UV radiation.

The other hero ingredient is our organic Wild Thyme Oil, steam distilled from the leaves and flowers of Thymus serpyllum which grows in rural regions of Spain. It has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and is a potent anti-oxidant, helping to soothe inflamed skin. Topical application of the oil can help support skin healing, reducing the incidence of scarring from pimples or acne due to it's superior skin regeneration properties.

The other essential we use is Lavender Oil which blends synergistically with Thyme Oil to help collagen synthesis and skin healing. It is soothing as well as calming on areas that are red, inflamed or sore.

The base is made from healing and hydrating oils such as Avocado Oil and Olive Oil, and Candelilla wax, a plant substitute for beeswax. It has a rich, honey yellow and the Shea Butter which we included in the base helps to keep the skin moisturised and hydrated.

This can be used on skin that is irritated, red, inflamed, dry, peeling or eczema-prone. It's also suitable to apply on cold sores, pimples and acne.

DIRECTIONS: Apply twice daily to affected area. This balm can also be blended with Sudocream, a diaper rash barrier cream with Zinc Oxide if it needs to be used on the diaper area, or under the neck and elbow creases. Zinc Oxide is also soothing on skin rashes.

Discontinue use if skin irritations occurs. Consult a health professional if symptoms do not improve. May be used if pregnant or breast-feeding. Store in a cool, dry area <30C.

Below are a few images provided by a customer, a mum whose son has had eczema his entire life, and was using topical steroids since he was a baby. He stopped using topical steroids 3 years ago and has had regular flares. He was probably going through what is known as Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW). On this occasion it was one of the worse flare ups he had experienced. The  glands behind his groin, back of his head and neck were very swollen, the sores constantly weeping. He had to miss school as he was in so much pain and he wouldn't go near water as it was horrifically painful for him. Mum was heart-broken to see him going through this. He was already taking a multi-vitamin, Magnesium/Zinc/Calcium supplement, a probiotic and Aloe Vera juice for his gut, and a supplement to support his immune system.

Mum bought the balm to try. He loved using the balm as it didn't sting and was easy to apply. It helped heal his sores, decrease the inflammation, and stop the weeping. Pictures below are over 11 days. They have used a lot of natural creams over the years, but nothing has helped it heal as quickly as this. The only other thing he added to his diet was more Vitamin C, an anti-oxidant high in flavonoids which helps to increase collagen production and assist with wound healing.
